The Float cable and glass wine display system is beautiful, doubling as a work of art and wine storage solution. Super fine architectural cables suspend from the floor to the ceiling, with glass cradles fastened to the cables, cradling bottles in your wine collection.
These cables can suspend up to 12 feet in length, with bottles hanging almost the same distance off the floor. Does this sound like something that would withstand the power of mother nature in a hurricane?
Believe it or not, it did.
Clients in Florida had the misfortune of their home being hit so hard by Hurricane Helene, they will need to rebuild. The only thing left standing was their Float wine display:
"Good morning from Florida.
Just wanted to share a picture. We lost everything in our home from the storm surge and had over 4 feet of water flood our home. Amazingly this wine rack was left intact with my Sean Minor wine.
We walked in to the refrigerator floating on its side, along with everything else we own. How this remained is amazing. We will rebuild the house, and of course, this will be included again."
So how did this happen?
We haven't put the Float wine display system to the test against natural disasters before but we do know the steel cables are incredibly strong while also allowing for a little movement/deflection when pressure is put on them. We certainly don't claim this system to be hurricane-proof but this is quite the example of its resilience!
